Reside’s 10th year of business, exploring Stockport and our summer recap!

Reside Stockport

This December, Reside will be celebrating its 10th year of business.

For most of these years, Reside has focused its attention on Manchester’s bustling City Centre, with the team specialising in new homes, rentals, resales and build-to-rent throughout the City and delivering unrivalled experience and knowledge of the residential market over the past decade. In late 2022, Anthony, Reside’s Managing Director, decided that Reside had made its mark on Manchester, and it was time to expand – Reside in the Suburbs was launched. This involved new schemes in some of Manchester’s leafy suburbs, including Greater Manchester’s ‘Town of Culture’, Stockport. After an incredibly successful first six months, Anthony felt it was time to give Reside its very own home in Stockport, and Reside Stockport was born.

Our new office, located on St Petersgate, right in the heart of the town centre, will open its doors in October, offering the same high levels of service, alongside the unrivalled knowledge of the local market. A specialist team have been hand-picked over the last few months to ensure we have the best local talent in the business to deliver the same success in Stockport over the next decade.

Reside has already instructed on three developments: Castlewood in The Heatons and Cobden House in the town centre – both for sale, and Davenport Park Road for rent in Davenport, so come and talk to our team about these exciting new developments.

Meet the Team

Once the new office was well underway, Reside’s directors turned their attention to finding a new team for the branch.

The criteria for these positions were clear: must be familiar with Stockport and surrounding areas, passionate about property and be excited and driven to start this new venture from the ground up. Ellie, our smiley new Branch Manager, was elated to tell us that she knew Stockport like the back of her hand! “I was born in Stockport, grew up in Cheadle Hulme, and have now settled in Offerton, where I bought my first home a few years back.” When talking to Ellie, it becomes clear immediately that she understands and champions Stockport’s unique identity, which we knew was crucial when working with Stockport’s residents. As well as local knowledge, Ellie has worked in property since 2012 and has experience in selling and project managing, giving her insight into many aspects of the property world – go Ellie!

Exploring Stockport

Much like its older sibling, Manchester, music runs through Stockport’s veins.

It is also a town that is rich in history and culture, brimming with vintage and antique shops, stunning architecture, markets, theatres and art venues. Last week, the team headed into Stockport to take a tour of the town and experience this for themselves.

On our checklist of places to visit was Bohemian Arts Club, owned by Tom Ogden from the legendary band Blossoms and his wife, Katie, where we stopped for a celebratory glass of wine. The venue was breathtaking: a contemporary cocktail bar with retro pieces, positioned over the first and second floors of a beautifully renovated 19th-century building and offering views of the quaint, cobbled street Little Underbank.

The team also explored Stockport’s much-loved monthly event, Foodie Fridays. Foodie Fridays is a fantastic event that brings together popular food vendors from all over Greater Manchester, alongside the resident traders of Stockport’s Market and live music from local artists. Drinks were flowing, the food was delicious and Stockport’s Old Town was bursting full of happy faces: families, friends, old and young. Summer Recap

Summer ’23 has been nothing short of a whirlwind.

Aside from Reside’s usual duties, the Reside team hosted another successful Family Fun Day, raising money for our partner Stride UK, a non-profit organisation offering support and empowering young children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Manchester. The team at Broadside hosted its annual summer party, where tenants got to enjoy a rooftop Afro-Caribbean BBQ with Rita’s Reign, DJ, beer pong and heaps of rum punch, as well as a Wellness Morning, which included a Pilates class, followed by fresh juices and protein-packed snacks from popular Northern Quarter joint, The Green Lab. Events like these are always free for Broadside’s tenants to enjoy, to showcase what incredible independent businesses are on their doorstep and give tenants the experience of living in central Manchester.

The sales team had a successful run of resales in Ancoats over the summer months, including homes in Old Sedgwick Mill and Paragon Mill. This came as no surprise, as team members have extensive knowledge of the neighbourhood and its developments. Some of the Reside team have worked with well-established Ancoats developer Manchester Life since redevelopment began at Murrays’ Mills, all the way back in 2015. Reside worked as the sole agent for the development, selling a large proportion of the scheme off-plan. Reside is proud to have been a part of Ancoats for the past 10 years, and as it continues to grow and blossom, it is a neighbourhood that we thoroughly enjoy spending time in, both in and out of work.
