Potato Wharf Development

Potato Wharf is a brand new waterside development, offering a variety of one and two bedroom apartments: many of which contain stunning views of the canal or outer Castlefield. Homeowners can choose between a range of different layouts and aspects, subject to availability and budget.

All the apartments have great quality fixtures and fittings, including Silestone work surfaces and Bosch appliances in the kitchen, and Amtico flooring. They are bright, light and elegant homes that deliver the best of living by the water.

The development is located in the heart of Castlefield, beside the Bridgewater Canal. It’s just a short walk from some well-loved Manchester bars and restaurants, such as The Wharf, Albert’s Shed, and Dukes 92. As well as the neighbourhood eateries, Castlefield is known for it’s greenery and water roads, including the new National Trust site, Castlefield Viaduct. Nick named the ‘sky park’, the site contains a variety of beautiful plants and flowers to help increase biodiversity, including cotton grass, Manchester’s county flower. The site also hosts events such as photo walks and urban foraging.

Potato Wharf is the perfect spot to feel like you’re outside the city centre, while still only being a 15-minute walk into Manchester’s shopping district.

Pumpkin Picking

Spooky season has officially begun and that means one thing – pumpkin picking! We’re very lucky in Manchester to be surrounded by some wonderful venues that host this autumnal activity.

The Hayloft Cheshire will be holding their annual pumpkin picking event. They’re open every day from now until the 31st of October, and will be staying open until 7pm for after school twilight sessions. This event is perfect for families as it includes a spooky maze, miniature railway, tractor rides, and this year you can also pick your own corn!

This is a great pumpkin patch for convenience and ease as no bookings are required, pumpkins are pay as you pick. Activities vary in price.

The Dunham Pumpkin Patch comes highly recommended for adults that want a fun, foody day out, as their annual event now includes fresh wood fired pizza’s from Little Red Pizza Co and cider in the Dunham Apple Barn, made from apples picked at the farm.

Various weekday and weekend dates throughout October. Booking required. Tickets are £5 per car.

Lancaster Park and Animal Farm is another great event for younger children and families. Their event is a full day out with a busy itinerary, which includes pumpkin carving, a haunted house and a fancy dress competition. On top of this, there are all the usual farmyard activities, including animal petting and play park.

Various weekday and weekend dates throughout October. Booking required. Tickets from £6.50 to £12.50 pp.

City of Champions Dinner

Reside are very pleased to have been invited to the City of Champions dinner, in support of our partners, the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation.

DMSF was co-founded by Manchester Olympian Diane Modahl MBE. The charity aims to close the gap of inequalities that young people from deprived areas face by encouraging and inspiring them through sport, offering more opportunities within sport, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The evening will celebrate those who have roots in Manchester and have made valuable contributions in sport, business and education, and those inspiring the next generation. Past champions include Beth Tweddle, Steven Bartlett and Aitch. All proceeds from the night will go to DMSF and the amazing work they do.
